For business owners

Considering retirement or your next chapter?

XitSource is looking for established businesses with strong fundamentals, owners considering a transition, and opportunities to build on what already works through thoughtful operational modernization.

A direct sale is one option, not automatically the right option for every owner. Attorneys, accountants, tax advisers, brokers and other professionals can still play important roles depending on your goals.

What tends to make a business interesting

Sound fundamentals

A real operating business with understandable customers, revenue, expenses and cash flow.

Owner transition

A seller who is ready to retire, pursue something new or create a thoughtful succession plan.

Transferability

Employees, customer relationships, systems, licenses and know-how that can continue beyond the seller.

Modernization potential

Practical opportunities in software, automation, AI, marketing, reporting, scheduling, pricing or operating systems.

Sensible economics

Purchase price, financing, working capital, reinvestment and management requirements that make sense together.

Preservable strengths

A reputation, team, customer base, process or market position worth protecting rather than replacing.

Industry-agnostic, not indiscriminate

We do not need a business to fit one predetermined industry. We do need to understand why customers stay, why employees stay, how the company makes money, what depends on the current owner, what needs investment, and whether the acquisition can be financed and operated responsibly.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of owner situation is the best fit?

XitSource is especially interested in owners considering retirement, succession or another genuine transition who care about finding a responsible next owner for an established business.

Does my business have to be in a listed industry?

No. XitSource is industry-agnostic. The categories shown on this site reflect existing areas of interest, but a strong business in another industry can still be considered.

Does location matter?

Yes, because local customers, labor, competition and operating requirements can materially affect a business. XitSource considers opportunities based on the complete business and market rather than using a rigid geographic boundary.

How could an acquisition be financed?

Depending on the transaction, financing may include SBA lending, seller financing, outside investor capital, or a combination. No financing structure is assumed before the business and transaction are reviewed.

What happens to the business after a sale?

The plan is case by case. XitSource may hold and operate a business long term or eventually sell it. The immediate philosophy is to preserve what made a good business successful while modernizing areas that constrain performance.

How long does a sale take?

There is no universal timeline. Diligence, financing, documentation, third-party approvals and transaction complexity determine the path to closing.

You do not need a polished sale package to start.

A high-level overview of the business, location, approximate financial performance, your role, team, ownership situation and transition goals is enough for an initial conversation.
